Less Rock, More Talk: A Spoken Word Compilation
virus254 (2000)
CD - $12.00
emusicRe-issue. Originally available via AK Press/Allied Recording but has been out of print for awhile. Spoken word collection from the cutting edge. Combines politics from the likes of Jello Biafra and Noam Chomsky with the latest from counterculture icons such as Penny Rimbaud (of Crass), M Gira (of Swans), Jerme Spew (recorded at famed collective 924 Gilman Street), Tom Leonard, James Kelman, Norman Nawrocki (from his one-man anti-sexist play "I Don't Understand Women!"), Steve Pottinger (with backing music by Dean White of New Model Army), and Mykel Board. Music never sounded this good.
